Need Help fast
I have a 2003 a6 2.7t My issue is when i drive the car around 20-30, there is a sound that comes from the front drivers wheel. It only happens when I am going straight but all the same I thought that the cv may be to blame, so I took the car to a dealer this morning (had to get a recall anyways) and they told me that the cv's seem to be fine and they didnt hear the noise. The noise is periodic and only happens at that speed range. Its not a grinding sound really, more of a clicking/banging around up there. My buddy suggested the wheel bearing possibility but like I said its not a grinding and it goes away when you go faster. Any help would be appreciated because this noise just started and I really think something is wrong with my car.
Thanks,
Jonathan

I had a similar noise on my car. Although mine was deep thumping noise, not clicking... Anyways I talked to 2 independent shops and 1 dealer and they were able to figure it out. They all told me if the sound got worse, then come back.
It has been about 20,000 miles and the sound went away. So my advise it that drive it around for awhile and take it in if it gets worse.
BTW, a bad wheel bearing makes constant humming noise, and usually gets worse at higher speed.
