Default Need advice on ABS problem

I have a 2000 audi a6 2.7t and have an ABS brake light, brought it to a shop and they said the control unit is bad, aight so i removed it and am about to send it out to a module rebuild place and get it rebuilt then I'll install it again and see if it fixes it.

But i also noticed that my back left wheel free spins while in park, its only that 1 wheel, and I only had the back left wheel off the ground, i did not have both back wheels off the ground to allow the other wheel to spin in the opposite direction because of my awd. The axle itself going into the drivetrain spins as well so its not just the wheel, seems like something is wrong inside the axle.

Could that be causing my abs light as well? Maybe the sensor that tracks the turning wheel is inop because of this issue causing the ACU not to be able to read where all the wheels are at?

The rear wheels spin free when the transmission is in park. Only the fronts are locked.

Symptoms point to the ABS module, but sometimes brake light switch can cause the similar issue. It is a $20 part.

you sure? because im almost positive my back right tire was locked, i know this cuz i have summer rims that i take on and off in the spring and the fall, and i never remembered the wheels spinning freely and having to set the emergency brake just so i could take off the lug nuts

So i was researching removing the abs module online and a couple sites said i could drive the car no problem with the abs module out, but i didnt realize that i'd have no brakes when i removed it, so i removed it and dumped most of the brake fluid out...said **** it and im still sending it in to get rebuilt at autoecu.com, once that gets rebuilt for 99$ (a new abs module costs 450+) ill install it refill the brake fluid and bleed the brakes and post how it went. Autoecu gives a 5 year warrenty on the module so it seems like a pretty legit place.

Absolutely sure. I lost my only key once and watched the tow truck operator drag the car, in Park, up onto the flat bed. The front wheels didn't rotate, as expected, but the rear ones did.
