Default Mystery Symbols ... What do they mean???

I found the meaning of some of the symbols from the instrument cluster, but what are these? [:-]

Thanks for the replies guys. I looked at my lights, all but the rear high level brake light and they seemed ok. I guess I need a volunteer to press the pedal and I can check again.

Our of curiosity. Would anyone of you know if these types of errors would be retrievable via vag-com? I ran a diagnostics today, but didn't get any error codes/messages related to any of the items above.

Actually, my 971 page Bentley's manual tells me how to replace my cluster but not what the symbols mean. I find that really odd. This is a Euro model and I couldn't get hold of an 2001 S6 manual. So, if you know where I can get one from, I would buy it and read the manual.

Anyway, how could all the symbols mean the same thing? They should be self explanitory.

You normally have more helpful comments. You must have been having a bad day.

It is my understanding that alerts shown on the display do not throw codes because they are, as you say, self explanatoy. Only when check engine light comes on does the code show up on the VAG tool. This is my experience anyway.

Did you also check your rear-fog lights?

Hey Kat

So the euro model had the 4.2 with a Manual 6 speed? That's awesome. I know someone recently posted a conversion on another forum where they converted a 4.2 to manual. I wonder if the newer 2004 cars in Europe are also available in MT. As far as I was told by my dealership the 2004 A6 was the last that offered a MT. Which really sucks for us MT guys...

Cheers
