If you have 4HP18FLE, then your car is not '95?
Anyway: the main difference here is that 4HP transmissions take Dextron III, and ALL 5HP transmissions take (the original) Esso LT 71141-Lifeguard5-Pentosin ATF1 and VAG.

As Mobil 1 is compatible with ALL types of ATF one could wonder how well the particular requirements are met?

BTW- I have not done any repairs at a dealers yet (besides new set of keys) and do not plan to,
I DO HAVE a 1995, and the transmission is a 4HP18FLE. Your question just doesn't make sense based on the very information you posted...
Just for the sake of arguing about how "unparticular" or "unfit" Mobil1 is for the ZF transmissions versus the mighty Pentosin, you lost track of the information.
And since you haven't done any repairs at an Audi dealership (no matter if you either had no repair issues, or you do the repairs yourself), I don't think you have a solid ground to call me "frugal" as an Audi owner, just because Mobil1 WORKED in my old ZF box... Get serious...
As far as I'm concerned, all the companies commercializing petroleum-based products are sheisters, but don't point the finger at me trying to be belittling just because I have a different outlook than yours...

You know it and that is the way that they like it. Esso is a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation and is an international trade name for ExxonMobil. Exxon mobil also owns Mobil. They have joint development with Shell who is a subsidiary of Royal Dutch shell and runs Pennzoil and Quakerstate. Then there is BP who owns a **** load of other companies, Throw Chevron and Conoco Philips into the mix and you have less than handful of folks who are dominating the world. They all know each others wives and girl friends and even boyfriends.

Most of dino stuff in the us are formulated by Ashland and bottled in different color bottles. Of course different color bottles mean different price too.

Anyways, all I know is that I want to be on their payroll. Then you can call me a sheister too.

I just replaced the fluids today with Redline D4 ATF. Took about 5.2 quarts... Took the car around for about 150 mile drive this afternoon and the car is shifting nice and smooth. The last change was about 30,000 miles ago with Pentosin. I will keep everyone updated on how it lasts.

Luckily, I live where Mobil 1 is available and that is what I plan to use.

So, how's it hangin'?
