mirrors

I suspect you have an older Audi -- maybe 2000 or earlier. It is somewhat common. There are a few options--
1. Spend a zillion and $1 and have Audi replace the mirror.
2. Try to find a replacement mirror someplace else
3. Find a glass house and have them put a non dimming mirror in it's place.
3. Purchase a used assembly from someone like Force Five
4. Goto AutoZone or Cheep John's Auto and Brothel Supply House and get some plastic stick on mirror stuff.
I prefer getting the used assembly from Force Five. They usually don't want to sell just the mirror section but you can try

Unless used are less than 40 I would buy new ones. You can get the euro blind spot mirrors from www.oempl.us $72.50 each shipped.
I love them, they are OEM VW mirrors with the last 4th designed as a blind spot mirror. For the C5 A6 you need to call them for pricing and availability.

I really like them. DON'T buy them off ebay, I did that once and they are junk. Get the OEM ones as they come with a euro (aspherical) blind spot drivers and passenger side mirror. The ones off ebay (pictured below) only come with euro drivers and are cheaply made.
In the picture below, you can see that the mirror on the left has a line down it. Everything from the left of the line is the blind spot mirror. They don't work as well as the stick on blind spot mirrors but they work well enough. Since they cost about the same as a regular mirror from the dealer I think they are a nice upgrade.
