Mech vacuum pump & timing chain covers seal?
So the dealership hunted down a oil "seep-age" I have.
They said the rear timing chain covers need resealed and to replace the mechanical vacuum pump.
So did some searching for the parts myself since i'd rather not pay $800 for them to fix both. Their quote says the pump will only take about 0.6 hrs, so betting with my mechanical knowledge I can fix that one.
however i can not find either in Rockauto parts, Genuine VWaudiparts, Bluaparts, or discount german part.com.
maybe I'm looking for the wrong part?
Did a search in the forum and not much of a help .. will continue to search, but could use any input from anyone.
I have a 2006, A6 quattro w/ 3.2L

They said the same thing for me. about 800 bucks. taking it in on wednesday
Vacuum pump 398 and 38 bucks for .5 hours of labor.
Not sure if its the same but they said mine were the valve cover gasket for 20 bucks each and 300 in labor for 4 hours of labor.
part number on the print out is 06E 103 483G.
I hope that helps. They also said its a slow seep leak like yours, so you don't have to replace it.
