jiffy LUBE...this forum partly deterred me in my quest for my 1st oil change on my 03 avant...it's interesting how soooo many people will tell you to take you audi to these fast change places..I am so glad that I did not...I even headed towards JL that day but ended up at Audi when I called ahead and heard that they were offering a special for $70...I aint movin without research!!!

I wouldn't change my underwear in the JL bathroom much less trust them changing my oil in my AUDI. I wouldn't even have those guys check my tire pressure. You got guys making minimum wage working on your rig (not that MW is bad) but....you get what you pay for...they could give a ****...all they care about is when they are off to celebrate 4:20....Common sense to stay away from those places.

Is that the going price for a Audi oil change? $70, is it sythetic oil?

It can vary..I got quotes from a few audi dealerships that went as high as $125. I called around and found an Audi dealership that was currently offering $70 oil changes with synthetic oil.

Does all Audi requires synthetic oil? or is it just the Turbos. If Audi use Synthetic, what is the factory recommanded oil change interval?

Alright sorry to steal the thread, but if I don't know if the previous owner used sythetic oil isn't it bad to change from regular to synthetic and vice versa. That's what I've heard with my motorcycle, and I'm just assuming its the same for cars.

Even though its been 6 months, I'd have to say the draining of tranny fluid had a lot to do with the failure, and they know that. I hope you fight this to the end. I don't think I have ever heard anything about an Audi with 88k having failure without extreme abuse of the car.

That is my thought and that of the expert its at...

Jiffy is really going slow on this. They first said yes they will pay and then they saw the cost and backed off...I really DO NOT want to lawyer up but if this is not resolved by tomorrow I see no choice........

I once took my old A4 into Jiffy Lube for an oil change. They told me that they didn't work on Audi's because they couldn't (for some reason) get the skid plate off of the bottom of the car. The only quick oil change place I was able to find to do it was Oil Changers 3000. However, I really didn't save any money by going that route either. It was just as expensive as the dealer.
