I love my S-Line. I was never that big on the A6, until the S-Line came out. To me, it looks nothing like the regular A6. Like Tha Abbot said, with the S-Line, you get all of the things that everyone wants....like the rims and the spoiler.....and you can see the exhaust pipes without having to change the bumper.
Like i said before, why would you want to buy a 7-8 year old car anyway?
I live in MD and I got my S-Line used in VA for 20K with 50K miles on it.

The acceleration is not slower, if so not by that much. If you chip a S-Line, you will still have 15 more HP and more torque then a regular A6, manual or auto. The S-Line was only built in 2004, so you get rarity with the S-Line. You get the RS 4 rim and RS 6 spoiler that everybody wants with the S-Line. If the price and miles are the same, why not get a newer car, for get the fun factor, look at the value.

When my saab 9-3 ('05 aero) lease is returned to the shop I will start looking around more for a good deal.

I like the Saab 9-3's...and you have the aero too. The aero is in the same boat as the S-line, compaired to and regular 9-3. Far as the turbo's going up, if you beat up the car thenthe turbo's will go up, thats kinda all I have to say about that. Everybody say that the turbo's will fail, but ask them how do they drive?

Also, S-line came with bigger front rotors, stiffer suspension, and was 20mm lower than the regular 2.7s. I have S-line, and believe me it worth going for it.

All 2.7T's , S-line or not, use the 321mm front rotors. 2000-2001 have the 4-piston HP2 calipers (same asthe 2000-2002 S4). 2002 thru 2004 use a single piston ATE caliper. The suspension is merely the same sport suspension available on earlier models. If you check the Audi model specs for 2004 A6 from this page http://www.audiworld.com/model/you will see in the back that the "S-line" is merely a trim package. Most of the goodies including the true sport seats were an option even on the S-line.If you plan to chip it and add aftermarket suspension, the only thing left from the S-line is the $200 spoiler... bdmstang's 2004 6MT is a great deal...just add an RS6 spoiler https://www.audiforums.com/m_686957/.../tm.htm#686957

Why add a spoiler when you can buy a car with one installed already. http://www.giacusa.com/programs.php?mpid=12here the chip for the S-Line, so you will keep your 15 extra hp. Trim level or not, out of the 2.7T's the S-Line is the top of the line. I dont know about anyone else, but when I by a car, I want the best that model has to offer.

Wow, you magically resolved "The Great S-Line Problem" with $200 spoiler. I am sure people who paid premium were not stupid when they bought the S-line, after paying few more thousands bucks. If you think that the S-line is just spoiler and badge, then that all right. However, people here understands more that that.

I would much rather have my 6 speed than the 15 hp, spoiler nub, and s-line emblems.

It's been said in these forums a million times, all the S-line is, is a glorifed "sport" package A6. It's a trim level.

All right 747, whats your point. My point is that unlike another gentleman on this board, I believe that there is more to S-line than just a spoiler. Abbott, correct me if I am wrong.
