Title says it all. I want the blue headlights. I want them now :P. Is this something that's an easy do-it-yourself project or do I need a pro? Anyone done it, and if so how much did it cost? Is the Audi dealership the way to go, or just any mechanic?

Are you sure? I don't take delivery of the vehicle until tomorrow (it's getting detailed) but when I looked at it on Saturday it didn't look like it had HID's in it.

^^Not necessarily...HIDs come with the Premium Package, they aren't standard. All A6's have projectors, but many of them still have halogens
Go here: www.vvme.comthey have really good prices and they seem to be of pretty good quality. A word of advice though, to get the most light output, you'll want the 4300K, which is the stock color (on Audis it looks very purple to oncoming traffic because of the projectors). A lot of people try to go with 6000K or 8000K and end up going back to 4300K because of poor light output.

Well, I took delivery today, and turns out it definitely has HID's in there. The headlight color (when looking at the road from inside the car) is definitely a different color. And the hi-beams are straight halogens.
Problem is, the light output doesn't really seem much better than halogens except that it's brighter (not really more distance, I don't believe). I'm actually rather disappointed in the range of the bulbs. And if I stand in front of the car and look at it, the lights look white.
I want blue. That's the 6000 range?

So I went to the link and to ask Quintious' question again Is it hard to do it yourself? Would it be a quick one day thing or do you need to take things out and all that?

Quint: Yeah the 6000K are blue...BTW you can adjust the range by programming them with VAG-COM.
Polka: No it's not a hard installation, it's pretty straightforward. The biggest part is deciding where to mount the ballasts. As for bulb size, I believe your haveH1's for low-beams and H7's for highs, and yes the kits come with bulbs.
