So even if you are getting a hell of a deal and say getting the bimmer for $9500, do you really want to pay $4500 plus tax, license and fee for the car? Don't get me wrong, 330 is a lot more fun to drive.

Anyways, if I were you, I would sell the car to a private party and go buy the bimmer with cash. Cash always talk.
yeah, you're absolutely right, the thing is I don't want the car that bad, and he had a sign on it for 12k, then he lowered it to 10k (this is without me ever talking to him), so all I was saying is I might go use my amazing negotiation skills and see what I get, but if not, I love my car anyways, so it's all good.

Also I don't have that much time to sell my car, then wait to get another car (since in the time it takes me to sell mine, the BMW might be already gone), which is why trade-in is convenient. But I agree selling privately is a lot more money.

I also still think everyone is underestimating Audi's trade-in value, cuz I got a deal on my car for 6k a few month ago, from a dealer --> Penske Honda if it makes a difference

By the way, how much money do you think I'll get if I sell my car privately?

You can expect 7-8k. sorry to burst your bubble but 5k trade in would be great for your car, mine as well.

My car blue booked for 12k and I bought it for 8900.00. Book value and actual value are very different.

the dealer with the bmw would have to be a complete idiot to sell you the 330 for what you want.

Best of luck, I really mean that.

Well, it looks really clean, nice car. Bad news, it looks really nice, the dealer will probably try to get you on price because its such a "nice example." Sorry to say that, but its most likly true. I would still go and drive it though, thats one thing you will never regret! I go to dealers and drive cars all the time, its good, gives me an idea how the cars I like hold up. The salesmen really hate it, but they are useless anyways, lol! Let us know, even if you end up a Bimmer driver, dont be a stranger Good luck!

Oh I sure will, people here are really friendly,

and even if I become a bimmer driver now, it won't be for long because I'm definitely planning on getting the a5/s5 after graduating (s5 if I can get my masters)

KBB numbers are flacky at best.... I regularly purchase 2.8 Audis that KBB lists at $5,000 for less than $3,500 and know that $10,000 vehicles can easily be purchased for $5 -6,000. Just stay away from the dealers ----

Additionally there are a lot of CEL Audi vehicles that can be purchased for even less that can be easily fixed. IE - My current 97 A6 Avant had 150K and a CEL - purchased for $2500 and all it needed was a 2 inch vacuum line. It just turned 200K and all I've done is replace brake pads, fixed a roof drain, and just had the TB done (total cost for the labor, TB, water pump, pullies etc - $535) I did do a radiator but that was because my daughter tried to rearrange the rear of a Cambry.
