Help with MMI Malfunction
The MMI just cut out on my 2006 A6 this morning on the way to work. When I shut the car off and back on, it comes on for a few seconds (long enough for the 'accept' icon to light up and the radio come on) then it abruptly blacks out taking the audio with it.
Saw a similar post attributed to water damage in the amp at the trunk control in another model, but I don't think there has been any such exposure (no rear washer) and I am getting audio.
One other issue may be related: over the past few weeks, the navi system has had an intermittent issue when inputting an address. Sometimes, it seems to get stuck when it tries to load the cities list and times out with a 'check nav dvd' message. Sometime later (usu. less than an hour) if I try again it works fine.
Any help appreciated on how to diagnose. Just moved and nearest Audi dealer is 100 mi. away, so it would help to know what I'm getting into.
Thanks in advance,
-Tim
