Heh, this is kinda funny now. I was looking for help myself and ended up helping myself and you at the same time, heh. I'm going on a trip to Virginia tomorow. Theres this mess there, called GT Live. I'll be back sometime monday with photos and stuff. Look for a post then. So far, I hooked up the T fitting to the vacuum line, zip tied that on. I ran the line up towards the firewall along the fuel rail, like in my diagram(red line). I zip tied the boost sensor where the blue box is, because i dont want to punch holes in the firewalls to mount it. I hooked up and zip tied the vacuum line to the sensor. Ran the sensor wire along the firewall towards the outside of the car. Ran it around the edge of the firewall and put it along the fender line up towards the windshield. I zip tied the end of the wire to the hood release cable, which is running in the same location there, at the top of the fender. For now, thats all i've got done. I will make a "how to install a defi boost gauge in a C5 A6" thread later on. This thread is actually the build thread for my panel.

so took off, lower left panel by all the bulk wiring, tried tapping into a red wire or two, but the gauge lit up even when the car was off, tried some other wires and nothing worked. tried to tAKe off lower dash and broke something, so thats not really an option anymore, so if ANYONE can help me, tell me which wire to splice into on the lower left panel by the bulk wiring that would be great!

Try your dimmer switch wire. Should work, the switch itself works off ignition power. So when you shut the car off, the gauge should power down also.

I know this is an old thread, but do you have the final picture of your boost gauge install?
