I Have an Audi A6 with 75K miles. recently The car is doing some strange thing which I am not able to understand.

The car starts properly, No indicator that the battery is low. But when I am driving, and come to a traffic signal and stop the car. The Engine dies in the middle of the road after i stop the car on traffic signal.

Then the battery indicator comes up. SO i remove the key, put it back in the Parking gear, restart the Engine and drive away properly.

Again when the next signal comes I stop the car and again the same thing happens.

So any ideas what could be the problem?

The Car battery does not show it is low when starting or stopping the car.
Do u think that the battery might be Old enough to be replaced with a new one?

Check for vacuum leaks. Another possiblity is that the lockup converter in the trans isnt unlocking. Try putting the car in neutral when coming to a stop. If it keeps running you have a converter problem.
