I know for a fact that the 2.7 s4's can dust the mustang GT. Vettes, maybe not, they are a hell of a lot faster than the mustangs, but around corners you might get the grip advantage.

a6s are luxury cars though not necessarily performance cars. i don't consider my car fast but its quick enough for a daily driver because it could take most other luxury cars from 2002. i know a guy who has a lincoln ls v8 and im sure my car would take that just from being in them both.
i even think our cars are usually slighty quicker or can keep up with the base model of the sportier cars(v6 stangs and camaros etc...).

only personal experience i have with actually running somebody is a 2004 mustang v6, and i had about 4-5 car lengths on him by 100mph and pulling away. GT i wouldn't mess with though

I also have a friend with a charger SXT and he's afraid of my car
so whether our cars are fast or not is all relative to how you compare them

how many miles do you have on your a6? any added weight? i dont think your car shouldnt be struggling to get to 60 in 7.0 (no hijacking intended)
i think a healthy 2.7 auto can go 6.8 also they say i dont know for sure that alot manufactures specs including audi are on the conservative side

The 2004 A6 S-Line was a fairly limited run so its hard to find the Audi specs but I have dug through google and read reviews quote 6.0 flat as the 0-60 time. I know one thing, 0-60 be damned....once my S-Line is on the move, passing power is what you would see from a 5.0s 0-60 car because of the torque. Power in the high rpm range is not equal to a g37 or 335i but 20-45mph is awesome. Thats what counts for me, usable real situation pull.

What I value is how *effortlessly* my 3.0 moves from 20 to 40, 40 to 60 and 70 to 90 and beyond. Also, I'm usually readier to speed more than most and the surprise factor works for me too.

I've always heard and noticed the exact opposite, most manufactures seem to aim kinda high on their posted 0-60 and 1/4 mile times and people have trouble replicating factory posted times in real wolrd situations.

thats not saying these cars can't i guess, but i have rarely heard of vehicles being rated conservatively. only two i have ever heard of running better than factory posted times are the old boss mustangs from back in the muscle car era, and the early 2000s camaro Z28/ss', along with various factory freaks which can happen with any vehicle(less common now with newer technology and more refined engines)

I once heard about mazda having to recall vehicles over the RX8 because the power and perfomance capabilities
