Do you conceder your A6 Fast/quick? Stock or Modded
Car: 2004 S-Line. Intake with head shield, Forge blow offs, Magnaflow mufflers
Reason why I知 asking is because when I知 just driven, dipping in and out of lines, the car is quick, handles like a champ, but when its times to race, I feel like I知 getting waxed by almost everything out there. So do you think your car is fast/quick?

My S-Line is very quick. Very rare that someone can prevent me from passing them. That said the car's flat, long torque curve tappers off at 4000rpm. Great for passing, bad for 1/4 miles times, not enough high rpm power. It's not designed to be a 1/4 mile car though, keep that in mind...it’s a mid-size luxury sedan that handles great in the turns and can comfortably pass other cars on roads/highways. Really, no Audi is designed to be a 1/4 mile car, they leave that pissing contest to the Japanese and Americans.

Mine is pretty quick. 2.7 T helps. Sport mode helps. No major mods. K&N drop in filter. Generic CNC machined DVs (forge 007 style). I agree with fizzlefry. It really isn't a screamer off the line but I don't get passed much if I don't want to. Where it really shines is cruising on the highway. Smooth power up to and beyond posted speed limits.

Quick - no; fast - yes. From a standing start this vehicle is too heavy and too burdened with quattro to be quick, although it is good compared to most cars. Even with a chip it is still a 6-6.5 second 0-60 car. But take it out on the highway at 70-80 and open it up, and it moves right up to 130-140 and even higher if you have space and guts. Now that is fast.
By comparison, my Crossfire SRT6 is both. WIth a 330 hp supercharged engine and a lot less weight, it hits 60 in 4.6 seconds and has the same top end as the A6. But you sacrifice interior room, comfort, and forget driving in snow.

My '99 2.8L A6 is no sloth, but it certainly is not "fast/quick". It is as stock as can be, though at least everything is functioning! *knock on wood* With 200HP+207lbs/ft and a curb weight of 3,700lbs it's kind of hard to be "fast".

I think quick had it right when he differentiate quick and fast. A dodge SRT4 is quick (you don't even get power windows in that back... thats weight savings!) but take a car like that to 140 mph and you have some serious cajones. In something that tiny a gust of wind could mean death at that speed. My a6 2.7t is fast. With the quattro and turbos, I rage through the colorado mountains at 100 mph uphill if I feel like it and never stop and wonder if I'm going to oversteer into a boulder. The weight and drivetrain of the car make it excellent as a grand tourer, where average speed over long distances is important and some of that comes down to having a comfortable and enjoyable ride as well (ever tried to make a 4 hour road trip in a "tuner" honda? Your ears buzz for days and you slip a disk).
If you want an audi that is both, look into anything in the RS line, thats what they are there for.

it did help, what most people said about the turbos i knew already. its a beast when passing, but i do have to keep in mind that its not a 1/4 mile car.

do anyone race there 2.7's? Like if someone on the road wanna race you, knowing your car do you race them?

Nobody challenges an old(er) guy in an old(er) A6. But I am still competitive and rarely let anyone out accelerate me off the line. And when some airhole tailgates me on the highway, my reaction is to slow up a little bit and then accelerate briskly to 90-100 and leave them in the dust. The A6 will beat most grocery getters (big deal!) but it's not going to keep up with Vettes, Mustang GTs, and even some ricers that are lighter and modded. Suggest you wait until there is 6-12" of snow on the road and challenge them. Guarantee you can beat anything then.
