Definitive Dension Gateway 500 A6 MMI Install
#12
Gundo - great post and an excellent HOWTO.
Kevin - I'm a first time poster and signed up as I'm infuriated by your arrogance. I'm based in the UK (we can get .com as well) and this is just the information I was looking for.
Why can't Audi come up with a decent product to solve this obvious problem?

2006 a6 w/nav question
I just purchased a 2006 a6 quatro with nav., premium, sport and technology package. I am interested in installing the denison gateway 500 for use with my ipod, but before I invest the time and effort I want to make sure that it is compatible with the 2006 a6 (I have not seen any posts discussion it being installed in 2006). Has anyone installed in a similar vehicle? Thanks in advance.

WTF noobs? Well, I have seen alot of threads with people asking about this. however they were all young. I my self make CDs I'll be damned if I'm going to rip my car apart for an Ipod. But my daughter would ----make me do it.
**** I still have a sony walkman remember those.

Not sure why my age has any relevance, but I am not a kid if that is what is being implied. Name has no significance other than something a friend of my used to call me when I was a kid.
I asked a legitimate question that has probably been addressed elsewhere or is considered a "noob" question, but so what . Either respond legitimately or don't respond at all. Not sure what the deal is with the attitude of the "senior" posters.

Well a "noob" term has no significance other than what people give to it; just like the cab maddog that doesn't mean anything beyond what a KID found appropriate to call you.
As far as your legitimate "question" and responding to it, if you were clicking on the link posted by your fellow noobs, you should have gotten your response instantly - yes the "highly acclaimed" product is compatible with your 2006.
It is funny that the only "authorized" US dealer is located in....Quebec. You guys surely try very hard to sell this $ 500 overpriced crap.
And if you'd have looked at the list of forums, prior to jumping into judging others from your very second post, you'd have seen that there's an appropriate forum/subforum specifically instituted for commercializing, selling, or marketing cars and car-related products. Therefore, the reactions to a constant influx of noob attempts to promote this "great" product in the A6 forum may pass indeed as "attitude"...same as your incipient attitude, which is totally misplaced.
Comprends, mon ami quebecois?
