Well I took the job of replacing my brake pads this weekend, and when I got to the passanger side, I noticed all kinds on nasty grease on my rims, so I looked at the CV boot and of course it was ripped. Surely didnt make my weekend, but car is under factory warranty, is this something that the warranty covers? Thanks in advance!

 

very doubtful same as break shoes and worn clutch they are classed as consumables and wear out

 

Yea I knew that clutch, brakes, etc are not covered, but will find out over lunch today when I visit the dealer if the CV is covered or not.

 

you could try for a new cv joint as that might be covered ( garages love warranty work ) it pays the bills

 

my aftermarket warranty covered both... not sure abot factory warranty

 

Any other solutions? Replacing those $5boots is about a $500 labor job according to mechanic. I have same problem on both fronts.

 

you need to get them done b4 it gets worse.
DIY to save $ or shop around for cheaper mechanic. Are you clsoe to the carolinas? if sao I may someone to help you cheaper.
