codes. where to start.

RE: codes. where to start.
What cylinder? I would check the plugs first, & swap the misfiring one. If it stays on that cylinder, swap the coil pack. If it moves to that cylinder, you need a new coil pack.
The LTFT, can be a faulty, O2, or EGT sensor that isn't bad enough yet to throw a code. Yes, you can check for boost leaks, but what bank were these on? The same?

The misfires have left and have not returned
Here is a small list of current faults I just cleared :
17538 - Fuel trim : Bank 1 (mult): system too lean
P1130 - 35 - 00 --
17536 - Fuel trim : Bank 2 (mult): System too lean
P1128 - 35 - 10 --- Intermintent
These are the things I am going to check:
- MAF sensor
- Fuel pressure
- Intake system for leaks
- O2 sensors before and behind cats
- Fuel injectors

Do you have a Vag-com you can log block 115 & see if the actual & request is the same.? I would also check the EGT sensors, as per the Bentely manual. You can just unhook the MAF & drive it around, after you clear the codes, if they don't come back, try cleaning the MAF, if that doesn't work you will need a new MAF.
