Child Car Seat in an Avant

Child Car Seat in an Avant
Not the hottest topic in the forum, but how do I fit a rear or forward facing car seat inan Audi? I don't have the owner's manual, and I can't even find any clues in the 1000+ Bentley Manual
I can't see any hooks that look like they can be used for attachment. Is this German over engineering, or my lack of understanding of this beautiful machine?
Your help is much appreciated. BTW, this is an Avant.

RE: Child Car Seat in an Avant
I'm into booster seats in my Avant for a 4 and 6 yer old.
Imake sure the seat back is locked anduse a lockedshoulder harness. I lock it by quickly pulling it out and adding the clip so it dosen't retract/release. I make sure it is tight. It can be a pain to buckle the kids in but it is worth a few extra seconds.
I do not use the rear facing back seat.

Thanks for the reply.
I did lots more reading before finding out about LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) and Isofix, which are one and the same thing.
I found this on AoA's website:
Does Audi offer a retrofit program for Child Restraint tethers?
Audi offers a retrofit program for 1993 or newer model year Audi vehicles that are not factory equipped with upper tether anchors. Lower anchor retrofits are available on 1999 and newer models (lower anchor retrofits are currently not available for A8 L and TT). Contact your dealer for more information.Unfortunately, I'm not in the US, and the dealer in this part of the world is unhelpful to say the least. They want me to bring my vehicle in to the bodyshop before they can decide if they can fix it in. They want to charge me for just telling me if they can fit it or not. I don't want to guess how much they will charge for the install. [:@]Anyway, has anyone fitted LATCH or Isofix to their A6?

RE: Child Car Seat in an Avant
I'm having a similar problem with my 2001 Allroad. It doesn't come with the LATCH lower anchors. But in my Audi Owners Handbook it states the threaded holes are there and I can add the Lower LATCH/UAS anchors with a kti from my dealer.
When I phoned my dealer the answer I got was pretty much "Uhhh babies, why would want to have those things?"
The Ironic part is, my wifesone year older(2000 model) Beetle has the LATCH anchors built right into the car. Nice move by Audi to charge you a little extra for what should be standard issue equipment.
And I still don't have a solid answer on if they can even get them in for me yet.

I still haven't sorted this issue out. The closest thing I could find on the internet was a seller on e-Bay Germany who is selling the hook attachments

My dealer wants me to bring in my car to the body shop to have a look at it. Of course, they have a standard charge for just looking at the car. I'm not happy with the answers I've been getting.
Fortunatly I won't be swapping the base unit from vehicle to vehicle, so it should be ok the old fashion way.
