Audi Vs Saab
Hey guys I am looking to buy a car, and I am unsure what direction to go.. With an audi A6 2000 or a saab 9-5 2002 or 3.. My only other car was a 91 325i BMW and when I moved I had to sell it.. Can anyone give me some Pros and cons on these car? or just why audi's are the best.. any advice here would be wonderful.. Thank you in advance! ~Megan

RE: Audi Vs Saab
I just recently bought a 2000 a6 2.7t and I love it. However, I would only suggest you get either of those cars if you are willing to take verygood careof whichever you get. The audi is way sexier than a saab imo. Also, which engine does the a6 you are looking at have??

You can't really compare Audi and Saab. Audi is a true german/european car and Saab is a half breed. The 95 you are looking at shares its frame with a Saturn LS and probably a lot more than just its frame. I owned Saabs for a very long time, longer than any other brand. They WERE great cars, fun, durable, but lacking in reliability. Nowdays with GM having ownership of Saab, things are not quite the same. I have driven many of their newer cars (post 9000k/900) and find them all to be cheaply made and very boring. They still have that 1 large turbo pull that I really enjoyed about my Saabs but the quality is just not there. The upside to GM taking ownership of Saab is that their reliability has gone up. My 900's/9000's were money pits. It's scary to think that I consider my Audi to be dead reliable in comparison to any of my Saab's ( minus one 900s manual). I had 4 900's (3 turbo and one S) and 3 9000's (all turbo, one Griffin).
Our BMW 325is has been the more reliable car we have ever owned. It now has 255k miles and is still going strong. But the Audi is looking like it should have no problems making it to 250 as well. Lets just hope the auto makes it that long.

Saab viggen if you can find one... GREAT FAST REDIC CARS!!!!!!!!! Other saabs are nice aswell. Recently getting my audi no car has come close.... I feel like almost every other car on the road is either equal or under my car. With driving power or looks alone. Both cars are great.

i owned a 2001 saab 9-5 and currently have a 2000 a6 2.7t. If you arent prepared for some service costs then these cars arent for you at all. The audi beats the saab in a longshot though. My 01 9-5 was constantly in the shop. It had like 3 recalls and then a mysterious check engine light that not even the dealer could figure out. It just turned into a constant headache and money pit, hints the reason i got rid of it.

I've had Saabs in the past and I feel like they are cars that will run forever but they need to be very well cared for. I loved my Saabs but I think if had to choose between those two cars I would get the Audi. I think they are more reliable.
It is also true that it can be harder to find people to work on Saabs than Audis.
Saab - Something Almost Always Breaks
If you haven't had the chance to drive both of those cars I would recommend you do. The thing I love about Saab is just that they are so different. They have a lot of neat things that I enjoy about them.
Good luck!
