Audi A6 The mid-sized Audi A6 model offers more room to the driver and passengers over the A4 line.

Audi pure protection (extended protection) - worth the money?

Has anyone experienced claims issues on any Audi Pure Platinum extended warranty when the car had 50,000 miles or more on it ? I am pretty concerned about an open ended exclusion in Audi Pure Platinum which excludes wear and tear items of pretty much any sort, once the car reaches 50,000 miles. Exclusions include steering components, suspension and shocks and a few other things. And the list is not limited to this so the warranty company can increase the exclusion anytime they like. This wear and tear exclusion only kicks in after 50,000 miles so assuming you have the factory warranty, looks like Audi Pure starts reducing their coverage right when you need it most ?

Default just an fyi on my experience

our 2008 q7 just had a major engine failure. its at 48k and is covered through a CPO warranty. They are replacing the engine, paying for the tow off the nj turnpike and rental car. In summary, i am going back to zero mileage on engine for the $85 deductible plus audi is rolling the warranty for 12k and 12 months. If i had not done the CPO the cost equation on this would have been a disaster. i was not a huge fan of extended warrantys....my opinion has changed.

That is great to hear ! But my key concern is if you had been covered by Audi Pure Platinum and since there is an open ended exclusion for wear and tear items at Fidelity Warranty's option after 50k miles, supposing your breakdown happened at 50,100 miles, would Audi Pure have helped you out or can it be a wear and tear issue and you are then on your own ? I am concerned that we owners would have no recourse if they chose not to help after 50k miles because the exclusion is so open ended.
