If the wire is really pinched then just cutt out the pinched part and intall a butt connector between the two. That and check the voltage with a voltmeter to the bulb.

okay that's great...
it doesn't look that bad, the wiring is exposed a little, but it seems to be intact... i'll give it another try then If it fails again, i'll do what you said.
now for the hid kit, do you think that the ballast has reverse polarity and should i buy a new bulb?
i just hope it's the bulb not the ballast...

Its hard to say exactly right now. Get the stock wiring harness fixed first.
Then re-install the VVME kit, if the right side doesn't work again start by swapping the bulbs. If that doesn't work follow up with the ballast swap again.

I'll let you know 2mrw and then it would be great if you could help me with the kit if it fails again.

Okay so my halogen problem is now fixed... I didn't need to cut out the pinched part, but I did need a new fuse and halogen bulb.
Thank you...
However, none of the ballasts/hid bulbs work...
one more thing: the day before yesterday,i did try the hids a few times with the engine off which caused my battery a near end-of-life experience LOL I had a really hard engine start but since the battery is new, i'll just get it charged.
so any ideas?
can you give me any tips on getting the hid kit working?
this has been really screwing with me and I really appreciated any help, thanks....

Well since you said the bulb was yellow i would say both of the bulbs got fried when diagnosing the issue. I would see what you could do about getting a re-fund for the kit or having them send out a new kit for you. VVME (being a chinese company) doesn't exactly have the best warranty policy i would imagine. I wouldn't try just buying new bulbs, i doubt it would work.

no... the working ballast and bulb still work.
heres why: i took them out of the left side and put them on the right<---if you remember, the right had a pinched wire that isfixed.
however, now the left sidedoesn't work with the halogen or the hid kit[:@]... it doesn't have anything pinched and the fuse/bulb are fine.
what seems to be wrong? this is a real bummer
btw: the yellow xenon bulb is dead, i confirmed it, so i need a new bulb if not more.

Wow, this is getting to be a headache for you. If neither of the halogen bulbs work on the left side then i would say that you need to check the voltage to the bulb. If there isn't at least 12V's there then its possible that another wire got pinched. (which is easy to do on an A6)
If you can't figure it out after a while, you can drive it up to sacramento and i'll look at it for you.
