RE: Another Axle Question
when buying tools its always best to ensure they are metric/imperial I know its a pain and the 180 degrees thrown in only confuses issues even more but that's life and thank our froggy friends for that lol

RE: Another Axle Question
Kurt,
FWIW, remanufactured axles are generally as good as, if not better, than the oem items. Remanufacturing involves re-using only the "hard" parts (parts that for intent and purpose don't actually wear), as in the axles themselves, and some of the outer retainers. The bearings, races, etc. are all new. The axles are also generally stress tested prior to re-use. Any part that you may replace that involves a "core" charge is generally re-manufactured.

RE: Here's a very good tech article on changing the CV Joint Boot
I have a question on outer boot replacement 1998 A4 with the axle out of the hub and the boot cut out of the way how does the cv come off the end of the axle ? It moves but I dont want to hit it unless that is whats needed, does it have a compression type circlip that it has to slip over ?
Thanks, Mike Bruns
