Default A6 w/ APR vs. Stock 06 STi?

Ok so i may be purchasing a 00 2.7T 6mt A6 with just over 100k mi on it, (timing belt just done) it's got an APR chip with the 4 options, rs4 clutch, and lightened flywheel. How would i hold up against my friend's bone stock 06 sti? From a roll? How about a dig? I'm talking about car capability because i already know i'm a better driver than he is.

my guess is that he'll take you although your torque advantage would help make it close especially with a 6 spd with rs4 clutch and light flywheel! I'd like to see it. 93oct would be closer.
His car is so much lighter!

^ true, the STI is fast but not a nice car inside, I'll take the 6 anyday for what i do, but if I was younger wit no kids and tracking or hitting dirt roads, it'd be the STI.
Straight line will be advantage STI
Daily driving/living with the car advantage A6

So we've established that i'll lose, which would be closer, a roll or a dig? I would think with the torque advantage and rs4 clutch the dig would be my advantage. And like i said the kid can't drive worth crap so that may play into it. Maybe i'll take a trip to the track and fill up on some 100 octane and run that file from the chip [8D]

I say on a roll of 60 you should take him. Look up sti vs s4 in youtube and you'll see what happens. With 2 K04's you wouldn't have a problem.

Haha i know but i'm gonna need a couple months to save up for the K04's so i was thinking maybe i'll just spend the extra 400 and get the vast dp's.

You have a luxury sport cruiser, not a race car like the STI.

Seen the video.

And what's your point? It may be a luxury cruiser however with the same engine as the s4, and only 100lbs lighter, i see no reason why it cant run like a sports car while maintaining it's luxury cruiser status. That's half the appeal. Who would expect a 3800lb audi boat to walk an STi?

Don't have the car yet but i'll make sure to get videos. Im thinking, APR Chip (since its already installed), VAST dp's, and a DIY dual front mount system. I have 4 2.5" 90 degree mandrel bends and 4' of 2.5" straight pipe so i was thinking if i buy a bunch of intercooler coupler tube i can try to create a DIY dual front mount system for around 400 dollars. May not be perfect but it'd be better than spending 2 grand on a kit.
