As of late my transmission is shifting pretty erratically. Sometimes it will shift normal, thenat about 3k rpm or so, then twice and it lurches and then while coming to a stop it downshifts pretty hard as well. This only started yesterday and there aren't any cels. So im stumped and my mechanic says it may be a speed sensor. Any advice? A6 2.7 tiptronic.

 

ALright, now on my way home from work it still did it. Even cruising at highway speeds it still kind of shuttered, and when coming to a stop it jerked right before I stopped and clunked. And it did that on two seperate ocassions. I really hope it isn't my torque converter or anything internal, because I have $40.00 no savings, and work is twenty minutes away so walking is out of the question.

 

Well, got a call from my mechanic. Turns out it was a range sensor. Total cost was 230. But, I'll have it back tonight.

 

Hmmmmmmmm, I'll be shocked if that's all it is!

 

Don't jinx it. I can't afford another repair at the moment. But he checked all my other sensors and solenoids and said they were good so here's hoping.
