Default 99 a6 brakes help please

hey guys, new here, but i have a minor problem. just did my front brake pads and that all went fine. then i got to the back pads and everything was going fine. until i tried to compress the piston thing in the caliper. it wont move, is there some kind of trick to make it compress? my car is currently on stands in the driveway, and i really need to get to work on monday so if anyone could help asap please?

also, i was looking at http://www.lltek.com/exhaust_tips_a64b_prefaclft.htm and i was just wondering, does this involve anymodification to my bumper? and my cupholders in the back, you know the ones that slide out in the middle of the seat? well neither of them slide out any more, any suggestions?

well i think thats about it for my list of problems currently. if anyone could please help with the brake problem, that would be awesome becasue i really dont want to have to hitch hike to work with my audi in the driveway on stands.......

not done them myself but many rear calipers have a screw type piston which needs to be wound back when you replace the pads - its to do with the handbrake, so it doesnt need adjustment as the pads wear,

tools can be bought from a local motor factor cheaply.

the rear bumper needs cutting to fit the tail pipe trims along with the exhaust heat sheilds, the end of the exhaust pipe will need to be cut before fitting the pipes.

the rear cup holders are weak, if you remove the outer trim by pulling it you should be able to see the retaining clips - or look on audi world for photos in the tech area, you may be able to file the moving parts to them to get them to work or buy new..

try this link for an idea of the brake tool : http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-25000-Re.../dp/B0002SQUJU

the tool pushes against one side of the caliper whilst screwing the piston back using 2 pins which fit the cuts on the piston face

ya, i kinda figured the tail pipes would involve a bunch of cutting and stuff......

same with the cupholders.......they definitely work good, but not very good design, i got one of em out and realized theres nothing broken at all, just some lazy ******* in my back seat decided to spill something in it and not tell me and just close it, and it got all gooped up so i just had to clean it.

but still with the brakes......so your saying maybe i just have to pretty much screw them back in? i noticed the piston turned both ways without any resistance either way, so i was thinking that wasnt it, but ill go back and try it.....i dont understand why they couldnt just make it push back in like every other car ive seen.....but that sounds like a good possibility, thanks a lot.

if anyone else has any other possiblities it would be greatly appreciated.
