99 A6 2.8 Bucking on Upshift
Of course it was beautiful here in the SouthEast just recently, so I waxed her up nice - than this happens.
In retrospect, there have been a number of little things that I can put together now. Probably 1500 miles ago, I noticed it shifted from 1st-2nd at much higher than normal rpm when cold. Throwing it in tipronic seemed to manage this situation, so I didn't worry too much - I have problems when I just wake up too.
Now recently, in the last 200 miles, I noticed she started to (intermittently) not shift smoothly when upshifting - especially from 4th-5th.
Today , the situation has gotten worse, and it seems that all upshifts are 'buck'y - even in tiptronic mode.
No, I've never had the ATF flushed as I had bought into that unserviceable line of stuff- but I'm starting to see that may be wrong.
I'm hopin' I can squeeze 40 miles out of her tomorrow.
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome - I just want to get ideas before I bring her in.
Thanks
...Mike
Anyone know a good independent in Cary, NC
Thanks. BTW, I probably should have mentioned that it is a front wheel drive 5-speed automatic.

I would definatly get the trans serviced, filter could be getting stopped up and fresh fluid would help too, that would be the reason for the slow upshift when cold too. I live in Greensboro NC and I know a great independent Audi/VW up here. I am in the used car business and I refer all of my customers to him and they all love him.....It is probably about a 50 minute drive for you if you are interested.
