Default 97 a6 quattro wagon Cabin air filter?

I can't find my cabin air filter... does anyone have a diagram or a hint? thanks Dwight in New Orleans

on the 98, it is underneath the panel above the battery under the hood. I am not sure if ti is the same on the 97.

Some cars didnt have it but it could be added. Under the cowling panel, pass side I believe.

97 Avant battery is under the rear seat... I haven't seen a cabin filter...

Instructions found in this thread should be helpful. You either have it in the HVAC unit (page 55- '94->'97), or it's just under the cowl -passenger side, '97 -> on.

Crap -- You have to take the whole vehicle apart to get to it...

It most likely include removing the seats and rear ashtray!

If you're Avant was manufactured before April '97, then is an AFC engine (according to Bentley).
The location where you can add a cabin filter is exactly as shown in the diagram above -AC Evaporator unit under the cowl, passenger side.
My car didn't have one either and it amassed a bunch of leaves in there - if you read through the topic I provided the link for, then you should have been able to notice.

You didn't find a filter because your Avant didn't have one, just like my 1995 and the previous owner didn't put one in.
