Not an attorney, just an engineer. I've been hit by a few idiots though...

And thanks for clarifying the age thing "When I say old, I don't mean 45 or 50."
I might have had to smack you with my cane!

Regardless of how it turns out it still sucks. I have learned that no matter how good of insurance you have, and no matter how good the insurance of the other driver is - if an accident happens you will rarely if ever come out ahead. When you factor in all the variables of downtime, the potential for shoddy repairs, the frustration and headaches caused by dealing with body shops, insurance companies, car rentals etc.....it just is a bad deal all around.

Well, State Farm called me back today and the other driver accepted responsibility and they are paying for the damage. But Costner is right, it sucks because now I have to take my car to a body shop sometime soon and I'm getting married next Saturday so this is something I just didn't need right now. I might as well get new door blades and the rear lip spoiler to get painted while the cars in there

I guess it sort of worked out for the best for me because I got $3500 for the 95 pontiac and they just hauled it away and the other guy paid for the towing and my insurance is going after his for the deductable (not sure if they got it yet) so it was a lot less hassle for me and i got an Audi out of it....i guess a wreck isnt always the worst thing....now if the wreck happened to my audi it would be a very different story.

bdmstang, since you are loosing the car for a few days, it's the perfect opportunity to get some work done.

Congrats in advance on the upcoming wedding... Mods may be out for a while then...

Thanks! We get married next Saturday, but don't fly out for Jamaica until Monday morning so I might drop the car off at the body shop on Sunday so they can fix it while i'm gone. Mods only have to wait until I sell my Mustang (need garage space). Once I do that I'll get a chip, tint, lip spoiler and the 18" ASA ZR2's that are being released on August 10th
