2007 A6 C6 4.2 Cranked But Wouldn't Start
#21
Just an update. The dealer said a gasket associated with the fuel pump replacement was not installed correctly. Since it's located on the top of the fuel tank, the leak didn't show up until I filled the tank.
Still sorting out the wheel/tire damage. Right front wheel has a bad ding which they're sending out to a wheel shop for repair. Needless to say, that tire's toast. Right rear has small ding which should be okay.
Subaru Forester loaner still working like a champ.
BTW, my wife and I watched "It's Complicated" over the weekend. In it the Steve Martin character drives a 2008 A6 (S6, actually). The Meryl Streep character (high on pot) actually comments on it saying, "Wow... This is the most insane dashboard I’ve ever seen. It’s like we’re in a cockpit. It’s spectacular. Adam, what kind of car is this?" He changes the subject, though, and never answers her question directly. (Sorry Audi.)

Status + Tire Pressure Sensor Question
Got the car back yesterday afternoon. Fuel leak fixed. New wheel. Good to go. Drove from Baltimore to upstate NY (Lake George) Friday evening. No problems except at about 30 minutes into the drive I got a "TPMS" warning. Stopped and checked the pressures which were good and a uniform 4 psi higher than when I checked them at the dealer an hour before. Reset the system using the "Car" function of the MMI by selecting "New Wheel" and "Store Current Tire Pressures". Did the trick, with no further warnings during the final six hours of the drive.
One question, though. The new wheel I got is in still the trunk awaiting a snow tire to be mounted. Is the tire pressure sensor/sender a standard part of a new Audi wheel, or will I have to move it from the old one?
Thanks.
