2007 A6 3.2 Nav System?
Hi all - I just purchased a 2007 A6 3.2 FWD with 28k. Im new to audi so apologize for any dumb questions (I did search forums first!).
The looks to have a tech package installed, but the Nav looks to have been removed. I have the Nav access buttons on my console, but they say Nav not installed. I checked the trunk and see a component rack behind a cover on left side of cargo area. Their lies a loose connection that Im assuming used to belong to the Nav system? If my assumptions arw correct would be as easy as obtaining this nav component and plugging it in? Does any one know where I mighr obtain one? Dealer claims a $3000.00 pricetag to install which i thought was ridiculous. Any advice here?
Love the car ny the way.
Thanks!

While I suppose it's possible that someone removed it prior, your `07 A6 is most likely just prepped for Navigation. I'll admit that $3k does sound a bit high, but the required components really aren't cheap and the installation is far from plug-n-play.
...and don't get me started on the "Ipod in a Q7" fiasco.

According to other forum members:
1. Typical dealer price is $2,500.
2. You can sometimes find the components on e-bay for about $1,500.
3. It takes 2-3 hours to install.
Personally I would not buy a car without an OEM GPS unit. A car with OEM Nav would have probably only have cost you an additional $500. However, since you have already bought the car, you should probably just buy a Garmin and stick it in the window.
