2006 A6 B pillar "hook-thingy"....WHAT IS IT?
Sorry for the highly technical description! I just got an '06 A6 4.2, and on the rear passenger side of each of the B pillars, directly above the HVAC vents is a hook that looks like a coat hanger hook, but in NO WAY does it work to hang things on. So, I have stumped 3 salesmen and 1 service tech at my local Audi dealer as to what in the heck is this thing for? No reference in the owner's manual either. I also noticed the same hooks in the Q7.

Hmmmm, you're both a wealth of innovative ideas. Here's the bad news: I actually offered BOTH of those suggestions to the salesmen, but was informed that they'd likely void the warranty if used in such a manner. Aaaaaah, the beauty of teutonic engineering..........

Actually the hook is a clothes hanger. Actually learned this in a6 introduction class. Yeah really dumb place for it, but thats what it is. No response yet from engineers on the why. The engineering mistakes continue on the a6. Anyone remember the poorly placed cupholders on the last a6.

That is for jackets, sportcoats, suit jackets, Members Only jackets, you get the idea. My volvo S60 has a **** hook about the size or a dime for the same thing.
