#2
do a search on this forum as see what turns up
Also try Audizine and Audi world
BTW it would help if you spelled brake correctly becuase you might get a lesson in how to break your Audi instead of how to fix it.

When the parking brake is OFF, the pistons on the rear caliper will only go in about 1mm...you need VAG software to completely depress the pistons to change the rear pads. If you attempt to push or pry on the pistons without releasing them w/software, you will break the caliper(s).

Damit Stop Making blanket statements Not All A6's require VagCom to release the rear brakes... It all depends upon the year. I have replaced the rear brakes on numerous Audi without needing VagCom All your doing is confusing the poor guy and people that drop into the forum..You have to be more specific.

So it sounds like I can not change the rear brakes on my audi? I do have a 2005 model year A6 - which I believe your referring to as a C6.
Sigh - guess I have to pony up the money and take it in. I will do the front brakes and hand Audi the hawk pads I just purchased online so they can slap them in.
