2002 A6 Brakes/Rotor Combo
Hi, i'm sure this was posted but i couldnt find anything regarding it. I'm due for new brakes Front and Back...
I'm looking at pairing the EBC RED Stuff with Rotora Slotted/drilled rotors. I do mostly highway driving and some city (NY)... am i heading for a world of hurt with these? or should I just go to my local dealer and pick up OEM... ?
If you have this combo please let me know your experience.

If your DIY just get the parts from Blauparts, Force Five etc and plan on getting your hands dirty. Since your doing city driving what you buy depends upon how much ego and money you have. The fancy stuff has a cost that goes with it but the normal stuff works just fine. I usually get my brake parts from Force Five in Concord NH and go with what ever they have. In a pinch I'll do AutoZone (less money and not as good) if they have what I need in stock.
DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER unless you have money to burn.

Not like AZ -- They are an Audi VW new wholesale and used parts place. Like a messy candy store! They also sell older Audis that people have given up on.
Their new prices are hard to beat and you have the option of used if you want. For example I needed a headlamp switch and I went used for less than 1/2 the price. Also got a few used replacement wheels when the MassHole roads bent them.

Thanks for the help... So you would recomend the following?... what about these "wearever" rotors?... claim to be balanced and ready to install out of the box?...
Just seems like tooo much of a bargain... you know?
Wagner ThermoQuiet® Brake Pad Set x 1 Part No. MX840 $63.99
Wearever Brake Rotor - Front x 2 Part No. YH145555 $123.98
Wearever Brake Rotor - Rear x 2 Part No. YH145355 $45.98
another question... how do i tell (without measuring) if i have the 312mm or 321mm rotors?... i do have 16" wheels... but they could have been put on after the fact. I purchased my audi from a dealer but you never know what'd they do to sell a car.

I use wagner rotors as well. Just putting it out there. oh, and while you have the wheel off make sure you are ordering the right pads. There are several options depending on whether or not you have multi piston calipers.
