Default 2001 Audi A6 2.7T Quattro new plugs should I do coil packs also?

I am trying to get as much performance out of my old 2001 A6 as I can, I have some new spark plugs but before I go diving in I am wonndering if it's worth while to do the coil packs along with it. My car is running well but I can tell I need to do a tune up on it. Will the spark plugs do no good with out new coil packs?? If I do go to change my coil packs are there any noobie mistakes I can make or is it pretty straight forward?

Thanks for your advice and time.

Also my car is at 98k miles and hasn't had much if any work every done to it execpt for oil and fluids that kind of thing.

Spark plugs are cheap. a full set of coilpacks, not so much. to put it in very simple terms, either the coilpack works, or it doesn't. ok, it may be a bit more complex than that, but the basic theory is that there is not a big reason to go with new coilpacks if the ones you have are working. that being said, if you have the means, it can't hurt to replace the old ones.

it is a pretty straightforward process. you should not have any issues. just be "gentle" with the coil packs and make sure you have the proper extension to get down to the spark plug.

good luck

have fun
