Default (2001) Audi A6 2.7T Oil - Pento High Performance II 5W40 Engine Oil

Is this a good oil for my 2.7T A6?

Will bring it to my local mechanic to change it (for free), so thats why I want to get an Oil KIT.

Is the Pento High Performance II 5W40 any good for my car? Should I get something else? I do about 2000 city miles a month, and car has already 93000 miles on it.

Please provide links from e-tailers if I could get it cheaper from somewhere else, looking to place an order on 8/31. Looking for somewhat bang for the buck

Local Jiffy Lube charges 90$ for an oil change on this model.

Thanks.

It should be ok in the summer if it's a synthetic. I would recommend 0W-40 for the winter. I've been running Mobil1 0W-40 since I bought my A6 (as did the previous owner) and it's now at 176k miles with original turbos.

You can get Mobil or Castrol Syntec from local supplier for cheaper than that.

Please give exact model/specs of Castrol/Mobil. And which local supplier exactly, link me to retailer

Oil was previously changed 5000-6000 miles ago, by Jiffy Lube.

Note: Driving this in Chicago area, which means hot summers (almost gone now), and very cold winters.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Pentosyn motor oils if they were less expensive and/or easier to obtain. I'll stick w/the readily available Castrol Syntec 5w40 for the above mentioned reasons.

Mobil 1 5w-40
Castrol Syntec 5w-40

Any store should carry them, including napa, kragen, and etc.

90$ to change oil on a car that you don't even need to lift off the ground? Why not just spend the money on good oil and do it yourself?

I clearly stated the oil change will be free, except the materials (oil+filter).

I just can't believe that a quick lube place would charge that much. You can get new brakes put in for half that around Denver. I'm a DIY kind of guy, but are car labor rates really that high nowadays?
