Oh man my vacation is over :-( back in NY damn it.... Lol
but after 2952 miles I love my car more than ever!!! Yea I'm not gonna lie my front control arms may need to b replace since they making some squiking noise but they prob needed it to replace sooner or later. But I had no problems at all with d car, 70-80 mph almost d whole time. Pretty much straight only stop to put gas n eat while we put gas. I'm taking it next month to edgemotors to do d timing belt n valve/cam seals n gaskets n maybe I'll let them change d front arms also. I'm planning on keeping this car at least untill 200-250k now. I don't really drive it much so that means is gonna b a few years with it! I'm gonna save $$ n deff get me another A6 down d line!! :-)

Tell the father Nick, son Tony that Raphael sends you ... 950$ for T-Belt & accessories for my 2002 3.0 Avant Quat. If T-Stat (not considered as T-Belt sys) is needed another 50$

3.0L engine T-Belt svc is considered the most difficult among the other engines so the fee is higher. Other indy shops quote between 1200$ - 2000$, while dealer quote is 2350$.

Make sure you replace the waterpump, thermostat, and all tensioners. The 2.7T shop rate is 6 hours for a TB job while the 3.0 is 9 hours. Before you commit to changing the front control arms, pull the rims and liberally douse all rubber bushings with silicone spray. Dry rubber tends to squeak on metal. While the tire is jacked, grap the wheel at 3-9 and twist then do 6-12. If it moves, then you may need control arms. I had to replace one side at around 185k and the tire place showed me how they were moving, and my indie shop confirmed it and did the work. And, yes, the A6 is a great touring sports vehicle especially on long drives.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!

Ok so call me crazy but I just came back (dec 30) from a 2nd road trip from Miami! :-) total miles this time 3168.2k by d time I parked in my house. I got a whole complete control arm kit put on, replaced valve cover gaskets n cam seals, check/added tranny fluid, oil change, steering fluid, etc. now I didn't do d timing belt yet cause d po did it around 100k now I know I should have done b4 d trip I decided to take a risk n do it when I come back. My car now has 168k after d 2 trips this year n still running fine. I will make d apt with edge-motors to do it at d end of this month or 1st week of d next one n have them check anything else on it! I just want to say to whoever thinks that because ur car has a lot of miles doesn't mean u can enjoy n drive it far!! As long as u do maintain ur car it should last a long n give u plenty of miles. I was debating on buying another car but after diving mine do much towards d end of this year I couldn't justify another monthly bill! Lol I'll drive this baby until it can't no more ;-) hopefully 250+k

im thinking of doing d timing belt plus valve cover/cam seal gaskets, spark plugs n have them check d tranny fluid n just take my car on d trip! Just cause I still have to do it when I come back from d trip. A rental car for almost 2 weeks is gonna cost me prob d same anyway, no? I really enjoy driving my car even if I don't get to drive it as much!
What u guys think?
i think that would be best. also make sure you have at-least one quart of oil with you. with a 2500 miles trip its sure to burn some oil during that trip.

Hi guys!!
So my car now has 173K I replaced the timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, tensioners, coolant, etc! Also gas filter, air n cabin filters less than 500 miles ago! Big thanks to edge-motors !!! Those guys are great.
What I can I say.. I'm at it again but this time to Killeen Texas for my sister's wedding! I figured I have 9 days off I may as well go for a road trip again! Only thing is this one is around 1700 miles each way. After local driving there n back I'll prob put 3600-3700? Total miles. Planning on changing my oil b4 heading there with mobil1 0w40 but I think that's it, don't know what else to check b4 the trip! Tranny fluid good, brakes good, tires good, other fluids good, new fuel pump. Anything else? I hardly drive my car but lately I been putting road trips miles on it and it seen like is actually better or easier on the car cause I haven't have any problems during or after the long trips. Hopefully everything goes well on this one! I'll b leaving in 6 days n can't wait!
