1999 Audi A6 -new issue
So I am starting a new thread... I had the long thread regarding cam tensioner spacing and vacuum leaks causing issues..
https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...e-help-189368/
Now I got past that and started the car last night. It starts now and is smooth except for idle still. I'll need to check oil pressure to make sure my tensioners are getting enough to make the timing right at idle. It's smooth if I bump the idle 100rpms.
But now there is a new issue!!!!! Normally when an audi 2.8 starts a few seconds after the engine runs you hear a click and rpms settle. What mine is doing is repeatedly clicking.... and every time drops the idle 50.
One thing I am noticing is the electric fan isn't on even though the engine temp is at operating temp.. with the climate system off. Is this clicking sound the fan trying to kick on??
The clicking sound seems to be completely random.. It can be 2x in a minute or once every second
