Default 04' A6 3.0L Sluggish

I dont know how to explain it or really put my finger on it sometimes my 3.0 A6 feels like its sluggish. Its not missing just feels like it has reduced power. Other times ill get in and she runs just fine. Its like you hit the gas sometimes from a stop and the engine RPM just crawls up next time she nice and quick. I would say its making at least a 2 sec difference on a 0-60 time (air temp does not seem to be affecting it as well). Now, im new to Audi's and i know A6's are not the most quick the there is definitily a difference. Does any one know of what might be causing this or some places to check to try to narrow it down? Thanks.

check to see if it has any fault codes.

Is it up to date on service? Air filter clean? MAF clean?

You may not feel a coil misfiring a couple times and it may not be enough to trigger a CEL. But it would store a fault code. How many miles on the coils?

You don't give us much to go on. Check codes first...you might have some if it's electrical or ECU in nature. My next guess is fuel problems: either the filter is partially plugged or the fuel pump is failing or working erratically. I'm not sure I'd chance it, but a can of good fuel injector cleaner may help (or loosen everything up and the car stops completely). I use cheap Walmart stuff but a lot of members on the forum recommend Seafoam, which I have also seen at Walmart and Autozone. I think I'll post a Seafoam question to the forum, now that I think of it.

I did have one coil go out on me a few months back. I'll double check again for codes as well. Maybe i need to just have the rest replaced as well as spark plugs. I am not the original owner so I do not know. From the looks I'm guessing original. Air filter is good but not sure about MAF. Oh yes, it has 85k on the clock.
