zune and audi !!!
ok, i've got a 2000 a4, 1.8. i'd like to hook up a zune to it, without resorting to the fm transmitter module. after scouring the owners manual, and brief online searching i've not come up with any final answers. i'd like to know if i can use the standard rca cables (red/white) somewhere on the back of the display. i dont see an aux. button on the stereo. can it be done? has anyone here used rcs cables for an ipod or even zune on their audi? without the CD changer in the rear of the car. thanks!

Zune enough, Belkin will probably come up with some kind of solution. I even read about an adapter that fits existing iPod cables and converts them to a Zune cable. They're still too new to have many 3rd party accessories yet. The iPod took quite a while before having a bountiful assortment of accessories, and new ones are coming out everyday.

as of right now, i dont infact own a zune. it defintally looks like i should have labeled this post 'zune or ipod'. i'd be willing to guess that the people that are against it got an ipod before the zune came out. myself not being one of them, i like the idea that its different, that it can be wirelessly synced to others, and that its capicity tops ipod. sure that after i invest in it i'll come up with more reasons. another option i'm looking into for it is the FM transmitter. for ipod or zune users who use this, is it worthy? it would defintally be a quick fix for my prolbem, but it only seems that i would risk the sound quailty. in addition, i'm yet to actually see a well mounted zune in an audi, or any car at that. i'd also like to add that you guys are much more helpful than nceuro.org.

you do realize that you can't transfer songs with the wifi connection between zune's right? that makes it virtually useless. you can merely send a 30 second clip of the song. i mean, i know how people love listening to an 8th of a song so much this is probably its most popular feature... but.. yeah. my last ipod broke, so i was in the same boat, where i could have gotten a zune. but i got another 80gb ipod instead. i think its worth it. there's so many accessories for the damn thing, and honestly, it works. its a great music player. thats all they really do.

I have Zune and love it. Mine is connected through my in dash screen (not factory head unit). All my song info comes up on car LCD screen. I have all my DVR'd stuff on my Zune, and I convert some of my netflix stuff for long trips. Video resolution is good. Works like a charm. Hacks are out there; you just have to find them. iPod people are resistant to change, but zune really is a cool device. I don't need to transfer songs from one person to another. Useless feature even if it did work better. Everything else it does, it does very well.
