Default XM to Sirius help

Hi-

I just got an '06 A4. I love it! But now I want to switch from XM to Sirius. The XM shows up on the nav screen so I guess there's a tuner box in the trunk. Any idea what Sirius tuner I need? I checked out the Sirius website but they were listed mainly by radio manufacturer and I'm not sure which one will work for my car. Also, will the menu functions on the screen be the same?

Thanks!
BZ-

Not sure exactly what unit youd need but your tuner is in the left trunk area. It should be a simple plug and play swap with almost identical menu config.

If you have the audi symphony system...the sirius brain is $300 from the dealer and anybody with the right tools and average know how should have it installed in 30 - 60 min. My local "stealership" wanted $480 for the brain because of a "price increase" but I went to another dealer and got it for the regular list of $300. BTW IMO Sirius kicks ***! I had XM in my old car and disconnected it like 2 months ago. Got my Sirius hooked up the other day and I love it!

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I saw the tuner was being sold at the dealership. I was hoping I could use one of the trunk mounted tuners offered by Sirius which are around $100. Just hate giving the dealers all my cash!

Thanks again!

Well, I couldn't be more disappointed with my factory Sirius in the B6 with Symphony. Sounds like complete ***, fm sounds better. The Pioneer XM unit in my Passat sounds perfect, damn near CD quality and cost half of what I paid for the Audi unit, including the radio. Every Sirius unit I have owned sounded the same, even my Kenwood with dedicated tuner, like a low bitrate web stream. You guys don't get that? Oh, I love my XM...the DJ's have personality, less stupid sports channels and who cares about Howy Stern?

$100? Can you post the link..I've been looking for Sirius receiver that goes in the trunk, even ebay but they're listed for no less than $299

Anyone know of a good online store for Sirius receiver?, the part number is 8E0 057 593 (SymphonyII, without Nav/TPMS)
