Default Xenon question

Hey, I'm new to the forums and just bought an '05 A4 w/ sports package, 1.8t, "the wing", sunroof, and that's it off the top of my head. Oh, it has 20k miles.

Anyway, my brother owns an 04 A4, same exact options (I think) but his lights are much much brighter. They are xenon I believe because they have the bluish tint where mine are just the yellow ones. The strange thing is that my lights dont phase out, they are pretty localized like the xenons. The dealer told me they were xenons (certified dealer), but they are just wayyyy dimmer than the 04.

Is there a way that I can verify that I do/don't have xenon lights? I was positive that they come with the sports package.

Is it even possible that xenon lights can get dim and not be whitish/bluish?

Thanks for the help!

Look behind the headlights. Xenons have a yellow high voltage
warning. Xenons take a couple of seconds to focus when turned on.
Turn them on against a wall.

Is there any less obtrusive way? I'll check out how it focuses against a wall.

Well, I took out the option code thingy in the trunk and found this

" 8BH ellipsoidal headlight for driving on the right, US design"
" 8Q0 without headlight-range adjustment"

" 4KC side and rear windows tinted"
^lol but the windows arent tinted at all.

I also found

" S2B preparation for xenon headlight "

But that wasnt listed as one of the options I have. This was also not listed in my brother's a4 which does have xenon, so I guess this doesn't matter.

My B6 has the xenon package & they are auto-leveling. If you turn your lights on, you should see the lights go up/down a bit until they level out. Aim them against a wall and watch it move up & down. Xenons will also look bluer than the standard halogens.

Yeah, I'm really annoyed right now because my car doesn't have xenon apparently from what you guys have just said. Like how the dealer flat out lied to me even though this car is certified ect and we have bought 3 cars from them. I'm going to head down there to see if there's anything I can do, but probably not.

Would it be hard to add xenons in myself? How much would it cost? I've never done "modding" on a car before.

Can I get them installed professionally or should I do it myself? Like I said, im hesistant to do that because I've never done anything with my car before.

Also, does it matter what temperature I get or is just a personal preference?

Also, I have no idea which kit to get specifically... there are like 2 choices. Any suggestions?
