ok for us 01 guys there wasnt any other files made by giac or other companies....now giac does make an aggressive file for a k03 called the x chip and rumor has it that u will see bigger hp gains using the x chip than using the reg k04 software for us 01 guys...can anyone else verify this. ive read alot of other peoples comments and they say yes but i wanted to see what people thought over here and why they thought that

 

why not just go custom man like dalbac or something u say u want to have the strongest K04 setup out there so this would be the guys to talk to they are pricey but you have already gone this far don't back out now as for the X chip I do not know how this would work with the K04 I've heard it is pretty impressive on the K03

 

i know i know im just researchin my options as of now with tuning it. im gonna do an extensive search on this before i decide who to go with bc its gonna be expesive. plus i ave to wait to get everything put on. the cams go in fri...i pussied out on that one after i found out u had to have like 5 freakin special tools to do it with so i figured after buyin them id already be close to payin someone to do the labor. i just hope the rain holds out again on fri so i can go to the track this fri bc it got cancelled last week. kinda would of liked to know what it woulda ran before and after but o well im not waiting just for that.

 

you also going to get them to put in stonger springs and retainers when the new cams go in ?

 

i didnt go with a big cam or i wouldnt have gone with one at all so no. i bought them to retain stock valve train. anything under a .5 lift is safe special on our engines. now with shrick cams and others u would deff need to. since im only using a k04 i went with a mild cam eurospec. they have like a .4 echaust and a .3 intake lift along those lines....i needed something to make full power before i shifted at 6500 or there would be no point ya know.

 

do u know what kind of gains you are going to get from these cams ?

 

im hopin 10-15 atleast maybe more....cams usually give u around 20-23hp with the lift i went with. well see. to me its hard to feel that kinda power. i dont notice anything unless its 20 and above improvement so.....i know im gonna have a hudge *** smile on fri though or whenever i get to test it out and hear that biotch idle...ill try and see if this digi cam i have right now can take sound clips bc i know it takes 5 videos.

 

Dude, member when i told u cams were hard to put in and u didnt belive me, lol, i dunno, i think ur being a lil optimistic on the cam hp, i could be wrong tho.

 

10-15 isnt optimistic but maybe 20-23 is. im just sayin that a usual hp gain is in the neighborhood of the 20's with the lift i got. the lift was 10mm on exhaust 9 mm on intake
