super or turbo charge it. I'd say turbo just cuz i'm partial to turbos :P. DOn't do a motor swap. SILLY IDEA!! too much $$$ for minimal gains. You can get a $hitton of power from a gt35 and a great spool as well.

Yes, you could swap into a 30valve pretty easily becuase the tranny you have now bolts right up to it.

I'm thinking that a rebuilt 30V swap with SC would be a pretty fun little project...

I warned you.
The 30V is possible, but I was under the impression some of the other electronics were different or used different pinouts. IE (Instrument cluster, HVAC/CC unit, etc). I didn't go deep into research so I'm not sure.

If I could find a legit 1.8TQM with 60xxx in my area, I would have been all over it.
But I swear to god, Oregon has only tiptronic A4s...[&:][][:@][:'(]
I undertand the need for suspension upgrades, but I'm betting the weight difference between a SOHC 12v 2.8ltr V6 and a DOHC 30v 2.8ltr V6 can't be more than maybe 40-70 lbs... Any info on actual weight differences, or links to any Audi tuner pages where people have done swaps???
Obviously a new engine/tranny will need a new harness, as is the case with pretty much any modern day car... Any links to pages that sell longblocks?
BTW, will by 12v V6 tranny work with a 30v???
Thanks guys, you've all been very helpfull!

No one does swaps. If you want a different engine, you'd be better off buying a different car. Between the 12V and the 30V, the harness, ECU, cluster, are all different. I dpn't know about transmissions. I know a V6 transmission will mate to a 1.8T, because BT guys use it to take advantage of slightly taller gearing, but I couldn't tell you whether that's a 12V or a 30V thing. I imagine they're the same transmission.
If you're serious about this, try Shokan coachworks. Google it; I'm too lazy. They'll be able to get you what you need, but it will be much less cost effective to make your own Franken-V6 than to sell your 12 valve and get at least a 30V. Or, if you want to make actual power a little easier, go 1.8T.
