IE = SCATS

same rods. just one is for 19mm pins. the other is for 20mm pins.. im sure you know which one is which now so i won't point it out. haha, jk..

but good luck with the swap. both switching the forged rods. and then switching those with your shitty OEM rods

IE = SCATS
That is SOOOOO far from the truth. Scats are much better quality and stronger than the IE's

Just because they are both H beam rods, doesnt mean they are the same. The reason they are not as good is because they are a tapered rod for the 19mm wrist pins. They make the rod weaker and will have problems after so many miles (from pauter themselves) and will need to be replaced. They are strong, have seen just under 500whp, but its the durailty that is the problem. The 20mm rods don have this problem and will last as long as the motor. The scats have seem more power and have yet seen a failure due to power.

They 20mm rods (not sure if they are out yet) will be fine. Its the taper on the 19mm rods that cause the problem. I have yet to see either fail do to power. Thats with close to 600whp

Cincy, ive been given the option of looking for new pistons, .50 over tho because of reboring the cylinders. Either way, the guy rebuilding can find some oems for 350 with rings, it seems rather cheap to me, but everyone i talk to is scared shitless im running 25psi, i feel like im commiting a crime here, but like i said they suggested i may look for performance pistons. I feel its not a weak point on the motor, should i just go with oem? Idont think id find anything under 800 bucks for performance pistons...

the stock pistons have made over 700hp. They are made by Mahle and extremly strong. They will hold more than you will plan to make

+1 you can drop in new ones to lower compression, but i doubt you'll ever blow a stock piston

Ok great, i also got in touch with 20 squared and they will swap out the rods for me. I was worried about having to pay a restocking fee but they seem like really nice people.
