Default WTB 2002+ B6 Audi A4 1.8T

Hi,

I am looking to buy a 2002+ B6 Audi A4 1.8T
I am from Vancouver BC, Canada and I have been looking for 2 months on craigslist seattle for the right A4 to import to Canada and I'm having a little trouble finding one.

So I'm coming to you, if you know of car dealers in the Washington Area that sell 2002 A4's let me know, if you are near Vancouver (ex. Seattle, Tacoma...)and you are selling let me know, if you know anyone that imports pre-2003 models to Canada (as I have only found ones that import cars ONLY with factory warrenties 2003+) let me know. Any help appreciated, otherwise it may be a while before I find anything.

Thanks

Incase anyone is interested, my preferences: Must be B6 w/ AWD, prefer Dolphin grey, black or white, must be leather interior and reasonable milage (I hear 80K miles is avg). I am looking to spend about 13,000US before tax and import/upgrade costs but could be persuaded depending on extras like sportpackage or timing belt already done

cars.com is another good resource to use. Just out of curiosity, is it really hard to import cars into Canada? Why so many restrictions?

I had checked the auto trader before I didn't get very good results, but it has been a while since I last looked and sure enough, there were actually good posts not on craigslist I may check some of these out this weekend so thanks

As for importing to Canada, my friend just imported a 2000 A4, he had no problems, just had to pay lots, install daytime running lights and spend two trips as he had to wait for it to be cleared to cross the border. Also I think he paid a 7% duty tax plus all Canadian taxes (which should be 14% in BC so 21% total tax). But you have to check which cars can be imported, ex. S4's can't be imported. I hear it's got something to do with the Canadian law that all cars in Canada must still have working lights after a 5km/hr head on collision, which the S4 didn't pass I guess, but this is just hearsay and I have no evidence to support this.

to that I say
http://finance.google.com/finance?q=CURRENCY%3ACAD

Anyways, in all seriousness, it does suck that Canada doesn't allow a lot of cool cars to be imported

RIV has the list: http://www.riv.ca/english/html/us_ve...ssibility.html
among the list of banned vehicles for import:
Many ferrari's
Lancer evo's

Audi's
98-01 a4 wagons
2000-08 A6 v8
2000-2002 S4
02-04 S6 wagon ...
and many others

Anyways, I'm checking all the websites you guys recommended, I thought there were enw ones I hadn't seen, but turns out some guys were posting for seattle but turned out to be from Utah or something

Still looking

I live in Bellevue (98006) and I just got my 2001 through an auto broker. http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3723291738

I told him everything I wanted (year range, mileage, options, color, price, etc) and he went out and found one for me all the way from San Francisco and had it shipped up. I didn't even really have to pay him. He took the price of the car at a dealer's auction, bargained it down and took the bargained price.

The bad thing is that I didn't get to check the car out or test drive it before I got it, but it turned out OK. He even had it mechanically checked, serviced and detailed before I got it.

I worked with "Jason Chen" if you want to use the service. Also, if you want it in pristine condition, make sure to stress certain points. For instance, I have a black A4 and it came with a couple noticible scratches that I really don't care too much about but didn't really say anything about beforehand.

Also, a friend and I have wanted to do a long weekend in Vancouver. So maybe if you got one in this area I could be coaxed into driving it up for you. That's a big maybe though.

Is that actually for painlessauto.com ? Just cause I followed the links and there is no contact info for painless on the actual painlessauto site... wierd.

I'd be down for giving them a call to see what they come up with if that is the place though. As for you driving it up for me I'm sure you understand that I'd be more confortable getting a good friend of mine to drive it up instead. But maybe I could give you a ride, we'll see, as I may end up getting the car somewhere else like Oregon.... I hope not, cause it's farther for me, but who knows
