Default window vibrates loud when put down

Was wonderin if anyone has fixed the same problem. When i put my driverside window down it makes a loud noise like its catching on the lip of the door half way down then stops and is fine the rest of the way. Thanks for the help, Josh

You will probably have to remove the door panel to see what is obstructing it.

what year is your car?
For B5 on Audiworld:

Wrax posted a good example for a B6 here:

its just something rubbing against it...if u bought the car previously owned, the previous owner probably had some sub woofers in the trunk and bumped a lot with the windows a 1/4 of the way down and it caused something to vibraTE loose.
