Window Problem

Window Problem
Ok, when I roll up my passenger side window, it goes up slower than the rest of the windows (like 1-2 seconds slower). I am scared cuz I already had one window fall in before due to a frayed wire in that mechanism. What the hell can I do to prevent this from happening again??!!

RE: Window Problem
Welcome to the club, homie. The motor is going out and needs to be replaced. I have the same problem on my driver's side window.
Pretty soon, the window will have a mind of its own. You will tell it to roll up but it will roll down ever so slightly; you will roll it up again, and it will roll down until it disappears... and never comes back.
Thats what happened to me... WHILE IT WAS RAINING!! Can anyone post a DIY on this because I spent a grip load of money for labor on this part...

RE: Window Problem
I am having the same problems with both of my front windows on my '99 A6. The passenger side went down but would not come back up. The driver side window goes up very slowly but needs A LOT of persuasion. I took the passenger side panel off and then the whole window mechanism and noticed that one of the window clips broke off and the other clip slide off of the regulator. Called the Audi dealership and got the part number for the clips and asked him if this is common. He stated that this is pretty common for these clips to break.
FYI: the part number for the clip is 4b0837463b and at my dealership it cost $7.62.
It is easy to replace the clips. All it takes is a phillips screw driver and a couple of torx bits. SAVE YOURSELF $300 IN LABOR!!!
I will take some pictures once I get the clips from the dealership and swap out the old ones so that everyone can do this without being unprepared.
