I'm currently 21 and looking at maybe leasing an 06 A4 2.0t and chipping it. Will this void the warranty and violate the lease?

 

yes it will but most chip companies have ways to hide it from the dealer

 

yes and the only way they would find out if you were chipped is if they were actually looking for a chip or if they drove it

 

yea dont let it stop u from gettn one is worth every penny especially on the new engines im hoppn into a a3 in the summer i cant wait to drive that thing chipped. i beleive giac and apr have feature to hide it from dealers.

 

LOL It takes all of 5 min to find out if the car is chipped, so be careful

 

yeah Im sure techs are savvy to chipping being as though VW and audi have been chipping for years now. You have to get lucky and find a dealer that wont care about it like me.

It's one thing to try and hide a chip from the dealer on a car you own (I'm doing it and am all for it). Basically what it boils down to is if you end up needing a repair under warranty, and the chip may have contributed, and the dealer would rather be a **** than get paid by Audi to fix it, then you'll need to pay for the repair yourself (alot of if's...)

Since it's leased and the car is actually owned by the leasing company, I could see them coming after you for a number of reasons in addition to outright parts failure: excessive wear, reduced residual value, breach of contract, or even legal obligation for any speed related incidents. I wouldn't do it.

yeah I saw it and reminded me of the axel and police car episode.

I get all my work done from an independent shop that can pretty much do anything (except radio codes) that I dont feel like doing out front of my apartment. They said they are a apr dealer as well and he said it wouldnt void my gmac warranty, but thats not to say I take the car to another dealer they wouldnt warranty my car.

 

Well that is the problem here, you are talking about a indy shop and im talking about an authorized dealer
So yeah, why would the indy shop care if the car is chipped they still get paid by the warranty company
