white stuff on oil cap?
i did some research and found out that this is normal in cold rainy areas when doing short trips not allowing the car to completley warm up. well where i live its been pouring and yesterday i did a couple short trips, not allowing the engine to completley warm. at first i was worried and i will be keeping an eye on this but i am really just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

As long as the oil on the dip stick is clean and free of milky concoction you have nothing to worry about. A little condensation is normal for people who don't quite heat up the car in high moisture locale.

Our shop van used to get started, driven to the back of the shop and turned off. Then we would start it drive to the dront and do this alot. When i looked at the dipstick, there was some water in the oil from the engine not getting warm enough. Once we drove it on the freeway for awhile, it cleared out.

Ya I have the same problem also. I'm hoping its just the condensation & the fact that I do have a good amount of short trips. But also when I pulled the head covers there was a good amount of it and had the white-yellow tint. Hopfully I don't have a bad head gasket... here's my thread:
